This is a large network of computers, consisting of 89UNIX servers installed in 76 cities in Iran, to be expanded to 150 locations in the near future, covering a vast geographical area. The system consists of 2 large Siemens mainframes linked online by an extensive x.25 wide area network. The system has been installed and maintained by IDS personnel for almost two decades. The complex is the largest population database, with over 90 million records therein maintained update to be reliably responsive to the needs of wide array of real and legal entities.
